I have been taking my car to Northtown Auto for over 30 years. They are always helpful, give good recommendations on upcoming service without pressure, but let me know what is considered essential and what is optional. Always flexible to squeeze me in if I need to stay and wait for the car to be serviced.

Needed new tires in the middle of my military move. Shop was conveniently located within walking distance of my Hotel. They did a great job and didn’t take long so we could finish our drive. Price was very reasonable as well. Very satisfied.

I spent a few thousand dollars on a used rear end they found just to have them call me and tell me some parts on that read end we’re to rust to use and that they needed $900 more to by those parts. I was told it was a good rear end with a lot less mileage than what’s on my truck and that they were good parts. So they up-charged me an extra $900.

Hi Michael - We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with your repair. Unfortunately, rust on backing plates and parking hardware is going to be an issue when a vehicle is 18 years old; the used parts replacing your rear axle assembly are unfortunately also 18 years old, so they will not be clean and shiny looking. New parts were going to be an additional $2,000 on top of your original repair. In addition, we had 3 separate axles delivered to us, rejected 2 due to not meeting our standards, and serviced the 3rd extensively to confirm it was in the best possible shape for installation. This way we can insure a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on your used parts. If you have any other thoughts on what we could have done to improve upon your repair, we would love to hear it. Hi Michael, We're sorry you are disappointed about the result of your Missouri State Inspection but as the regulation manual states, tail lights "shall exhibit a plainly visible red light" and a lens should fail inspection if "a light or reflector is obstructed" (11 CSR 50-2.180). Son had his truck taken there. They replaced the alternator. A month or so later it goes out. They claim to have replaced it again. But when trying to pick up the truck it was dead. Don't use this company.

Hi Ken, As we discussed with your son Adrian, unfortunately the Generic Electric Module and the alternator were both causing a large electric draw on the battery. We replaced the alternator under warranty, at no cost to Adrian, but the vehicle still has a 40 miliamp draw due to GEM module failure. Unfortunately since he declined the full suggested repair to correct the issue (not starting in the mornings), the vehicle will - understandably - still have the same issue.
