I am from out of town. I recently had trouble with my alternator. I had my car towed to North Town to have it repaired. After the tech looked at my car he stated that the clutch was “all the way to the floor”. I found it odd because my husband has been a mechanic for 30 years and had just gone through it(throw out bearing, pressure plate, shifter sleeve, etc). Then when I said no I did not need them to “fix” my clutch the tech came back and told me that my belt was bad and the tensioner was stuck. My husband had removed the belt the day before with no issue. I believe that this shop tries to use scare tactics to up sell! Please be mindful when you take your vehicle here!
We're sorry you feel that way, Jae. We work hard to provide transparency in the repair process and make sure we are meeting our customer’s expectations. When we were able to start your vehicle without depressing the clutch because the pedal was stuck to the floor and the tensioner pulley difficult to spin during the alternator replacement, we touched base to be sure we were on the right track with what you wanted to address. After you declined, we simply documented our findings with video evidence (as you will find on your invoice once you come to pick up your vehicle) and moved forward with your original requested repair without further discussion. We don’t feel like these are scare tactics but simply making sure we are doing the best job possible.
